I would ask that you read my previous articles on stress and stress reduction techniques to have an understanding of how stress affects the body before proceeding to the techniques in this article. This article builds on the previous articles written on stress and will mean more to you if you read them first.
The next stress reduction technique is created around using imagery. This means using the imagination to induce relaxation. The mind is very powerful and can have a wonderful effect on relaxation.
First do some abdominal breathing for five minutes or so to wind down. You can read about abdominal breathing in the my previous articles written on stress.
Now, I’d like you to imagine that you are lying on a comfortable chaise lounge in your backyard (or anyone else’s backyard that you like). Take a couple of deep breaths and feel the sunshine beating down on your body. Become aware of all the sounds of the outdoors -the singing birds, the leaves rustling in the soft breeze, the lawnmower in the distance, a barking dog.
Notice all the color in your surroundings- the blue sky, the white clouds, the brown trees, the green grass, the blue water of a swimming pool, the colorful flowers, etc. Take in any smells that may be around you such as scents of flowers or pine trees, herbs, cedar hedges and the fresh warm air. If other thoughts creep into your psyche, acknowledge them and return to focusing on the above three senses.
Enjoy what you take in. Become one with nature.
Close your eyes and continue to lie comfortably in your chaise lounge. Sink deeply into the thick pad that is supporting your now very relaxed and heavy body. Sink deeper and deeper into relaxation.
Imagine a bright light from the sky shining down and enveloping your whole body with energy and warmth. This is your guardian angel shining down with her broad halo and life force for you to absorb. Succumb to her completely. Become one with her and the universe. Your angel is communicating with you, telling you how much she loves you and how she is all protecting of you. You feel her energy and vibration. A deep sense of peace and harmony come over you. You are completely relaxed in a way you have not felt before. This angel wants to share something personal with you. She wants to answer a question you have had resounding in your mind for the last couple of days. She knows your heart and fills it with knowing. You feel she understands you like no one has before. Open up your heart to her as she is very wise and can lead where you have not been before. Take a minute or two to absorb her message. Let her powerful white light cleanse your soul.
Thank her for what she has just given you. As her bright light starts to pull further and further away, until you see only a faint white light in the distance, begin to come back slowly by opening your eyes. Again notice the sounds in your surroundings, the colors of the back yard and all the smells in the air.
Take a few deep breaths and wiggle your hands and feet around slightly to get the blood flowing. Feel the warm sun toasting your skin a lovely brown colour. You should feel warm and relaxed, hopefully with not a care in the world. Enjoy this feeling of rest and relaxation. This is the ultimate place to be. Such a wonderful feeling!!
Why should you figure out what the value of you time is?
Well it will help you in achieving your objectives. If you know what your time is worth you can then decide whether or not it to your benefit to do task yourself or pay some one to do it or maybe even not do it at all.
While we all believe that we simply are invaluable, and we are as people, but when you have to figure out a a dollar figure for what a minute of your time is worth this is how you do it.
Step one is to take a look at what you made being gainfully employed in the last twelve months.
All you are going to consider is the pay you received for the work that you did. If you had investments or things of that nature do not include those.
Now that you have the number, you will want to subtract from it everything that you spent in that 12 month period because of your job. Really think about this, do I have extra cost because of my job? If I do (and I guarantee that you do) what are they?
Now you will want to figure out how many hours you devote to that job in a 12 month timeframe. You may work 40 hours a week for 36 weeks a year, but you also need to figure in the time you have to take to drive to and from work, any extra time that you dedicate to work outside of the office, any business travel, business parties, business dinners.
Now that you have those 2 numbers you will need to take your real wages which is the first number and divide it by the real number of work hours, the second number. The answer you get from that simple little division problem is what your time is worth right now based on what you do for a living.
What does this number mean? This number that you just figured out will tell you whether or not that job you are doing that you aren’t enjoying is worth it and if you are really being paid for your abilities and all the work you actually put in. This number will also help you decide if there is a more cost effective way for you to get a task done.
An example is that your driveway needs to be shoveled or the yard needs to be mowed. As an example say that you can make $15/hr typing a few lines in an online form in your office. If you can get someone to mow or shovel for you for less then $14 it makes more sense for you to pay someone else to do it.

Fly Fishing Equipment
Just as with any other sport, the equipment you use when fly fishing can be very important. There are various types of equipment that you need when you undertake fly fishing, and be prepared because some of it can get quite expensive!
Of course, you’ll need a rod and reel. What type of rod you choose depends on the type of fish you will be angling for. Fly rods are ranked according to their net weight capabilities (nwt). The nwt number will tell you what type of fish you will be able to catch. Fish that weigh 8 pounds will require at least an 8 nwt rod, etc. The larger the nwt number, the larger fish you can catch.
Some rods are multi-rated (e.g. 7-9 nwt). These rods are good to use because they can accommodate a variety of fish, but multi-rated rods tend to be less flexible than single rated rods.
Rods are made of fiberglass, graphite, or bamboo. Fiberglass rods are durable and less expensive. Fiberglass rods are best for beginning fly fishermen because they can be used in a variety of situations. Graphite rods are lighter and will give you more fighting weight when it comes to landing a fish. Bamboo rods can be expensive, but they are extremely strong and are suited to a more laid-back casting style.
Your fly line will need to match the nwt of your rod. If you have an 8 nwt rod, you’ll need to use an 8 nwt line. It is acceptable to go one or two sizes above or below your rod weight (i.e. 9 nwt or 7 nwt). Buy line that is strong and durable. Some lines are specially designed for freshwater, saltwater, etc.
You will also need to have a durable net that you can carry with you. After the fish has lost its will to fight, a good net is used to scoop them out of the water. This can be a big part of your fly fishing equipment because without a good net, you won’t be able to get your fish out of the water!
